Two companies in the medical technology and data analytics sectors are to create 60 new jobs in Galway.
Indian medical technology company Sahajanad Medical Technologies will fill 50 positions over five years as it establishes its European headquarters in the city.
The company makes coronary stents and is expanding into the European market.
Meanwhile, the Wood Group says it will add ten people to its workforce, when it expands its capabilities in Galway.
The company provides advanced data analytics to firms involved in the fuel and power generating sectors. It already employs over 100 design and software engineers in the city.
Both companies will be based at the Galway Technology Park.
The annoucements are supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Gaurav Goel, SMT's Western European Head, said: "With this centre, we hope to tap into the excellent talent pool available in Galway to make further enhancements in existing products and to develop new and innovative products."
IDA Ireland's chief executive Martin Shanahan said the attraction of SMT to Galway will "act as a valuable reference seller for us in attracting other companies in the Medical Technologies sector to the region."
