Payments firm Evo to add 50 new jobs in Dublin

New full time positions are part of €9m expansion at company’s headquarters in Dun Laoghaire

Payments company Evo is to add 50 new employees to its Dublin operation in a move that will see employee headcount rise to 120 by the end of this year.

The new full time positions are part of a €9m expansion at the company’s headquarters in Dun Laoghaire.

Evo has been in Ireland since 2014 and provides payments solutions to SMEs around the country. The company has over 2,000 employees across the globe.

Evo has also entered into a strategic partnership with pillar Irish lender Bank of Ireland, and operates in Ireland under the BOI Payment Acceptance moniker.

"We’re delighted to announce our additional investment and expansion in Ireland today. We’ve experienced rapid growth here over the past two years, driven mostly by the increasing use of card payments by Irish consumers, the adoption of new card payment technologies by Irish businesses to meet that demand, and a growing Irish economy. Equally, our strategic partnership with Bank of Ireland means we continue to deliver for more Irish businesses and consumers,” Brian Cleary, Managing Director of BOI Payment Acceptance Ireland and UK said.

Evo has been a key player in the expanding arena of contactless payments in Ireland since it was established in the country.

Debit card spend in Ireland last year was over €30bn, a 20pc increase year-on-year. Total card spend in Ireland is over €40bn with an additional €13bn spent online.
